Instructions:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect the input voltage to the "IN" pin.
- Connect the output voltage to the "OUT" pin.
- Ground both the input and output circuits to the "GND" pin.
Capacitor Requirements:
- Place a 10μF tantalum or electrolytic capacitor between the "IN" and "GND" pins as close to the regulator as possible.
- Place a 10μF tantalum or electrolytic capacitor between the "OUT" and "GND" pins to ensure stability.
Heat Dissipation:
- For high current applications, ensure adequate heat dissipation by using a heatsink or thermal pad.
- The thermal resistance from junction to ambient (θJA) is 65°C/W for the TO-220 package.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the traces short and wide to minimize voltage drop and inductance.
- Ensure proper grounding to avoid noise and instability.
Storage and Handling:
- Store in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
- Handle with care to avoid mechanical stress on the leads and package.
Testing:
- Before final assembly, test the regulator with a known load to ensure it meets the specified output voltage and current requirements.
