Instructions:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage to the "IN" pin.
    • Connect the output voltage to the "OUT" pin.
    • Ground both the input and output circuits to the "GND" pin.
  2. Capacitor Requirements:

    • Place a 10μF tantalum or electrolytic capacitor between the "IN" and "GND" pins as close to the regulator as possible.
    • Place a 10μF tantalum or electrolytic capacitor between the "OUT" and "GND" pins to ensure stability.
  3. Heat Dissipation:

    • For high current applications, ensure adequate heat dissipation by using a heatsink or thermal pad.
    • The thermal resistance from junction to ambient (θJA) is 65°C/W for the TO-220 package.
  4. PCB Layout:

    • Keep the traces short and wide to minimize voltage drop and inductance.
    • Ensure proper grounding to avoid noise and instability.
  5. Storage and Handling:

    • Store in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
    • Handle with care to avoid mechanical stress on the leads and package.
  6. Testing:

    • Before final assembly, test the regulator with a known load to ensure it meets the specified output voltage and current requirements.
