Instructions for Using the MAX705CSA-T
Power Supply:
- Connect the Vcc pin to the power supply (2.1V to 5.5V).
- Connect the GND pin to ground.
Reset Output:
- The RESET pin is active low and will assert a reset signal when the power supply voltage drops below the threshold or when a watchdog timeout occurs.
- Ensure that the reset output is connected to the reset input of the microcontroller or other device you wish to control.
Manual Reset:
- Apply a low pulse to the MR (Manual Reset) pin to manually trigger a reset. The pulse width should be at least 50ms.
Watchdog Timer:
- The watchdog timer will reset the system if it is not periodically cleared by the microcontroller. The typical timeout period is 1.6 to 2.4 seconds.
- To clear the watchdog timer, pull the WD (Watchdog) pin low for at least 100μs before the timeout period elapses.
Standby Mode:
- To enter standby mode, set the STBY (Standby) pin high. In this mode, the current consumption is minimized.
- To exit standby mode, set the STBY pin low.
Capacitors:
- Place a 0.1μF ceramic capacitor close to the Vcc and GND pins to filter out noise and provide stable operation.
- A 10μF tantalum capacitor can be added between Vcc and GND for additional filtering.
Temperature Range:
- The device is designed to operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Handling Precautions:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static damage. Use proper ESD protection measures.
- Do not exceed the maximum ratings specified in the datasheet.
Storage:
- Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage.
By following these instructions, you can ensure reliable operation of the MAX705CSA-T in your application.
