Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect Vcc (pin 28) to the power supply (4.5V to 5.5V).
    • Connect Vss (pin 14) to ground.
  2. Programming Voltage:

    • Apply 12V to Vpp (pin 24) during programming operations.
  3. Addressing:

    • Connect address lines A0-A16 to the desired memory location.
    • Address lines A0-A16 are active low.
  4. Data Input/Output:

    • Data is input/output through the D0-D7 pins.
    • Data lines D0-D7 are bidirectional.
  5. Control Signals:

    • /CE (Chip Enable): Low to enable the device.
    • /OE (Output Enable): Low to enable data output.
    • /WE (Write Enable): Low to initiate write operations.
  6. Programming:

    • Set /CE and /OE low.
    • Apply the desired address to A0-A16.
    • Apply the data to be written to D0-D7.
    • Set /WE low for the duration of the write cycle (3ms).
  7. Erasing:

    • Apply 12V to Vpp (pin 24).
    • Set /CE low.
    • Perform a chip erase by setting all address lines to high and holding /WE low for 1 second.
  8. Reading:

    • Set /CE and /OE low.
    • Apply the desired address to A0-A16.
    • Data will be available on D0-D7 after the access time (70ns).
  9. Standby Mode:

    • Set /CE high to put the device in standby mode, reducing current consumption.
  10. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
    • Ensure proper heat dissipation during programming and erasing operations.
