The L6506 is a linear integrated circuit Current Controller designed to sense and control the current in stepping motors and similar devices. When used in conjunction with the L293, L298, L7150 and L6114/L6115 the chip set forms a constant current drive for an inductive load and performs all the interface function from the control logic through the power stage. Two or more devices may be synchronized using the synchronized pin. In this mode of operation the oscillator in the master chip sets the operating frequency in all chips.
L6506 is a high voltage, high current full bridge driver integrated circuit (IC) manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is a monolithic HVIC (High Voltage IC) designed to drive 4 N-channel power MOSFETs in a full bridge configuration. Features: -Operating voltage range: 4V to 60V -Output current up to 2A -Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 125°C -Fault protection including over current, over temperature and short circuit detection -Logic voltage level compatible with 3.3V and 5V systems -Differential inputs for direction and speed control -3 different enable logic levels -Overvoltage protection Application: The L6506 is typically used in motor control applications such as brushed DC motors, Brush-less DC (BLDC) motors and Linear motors, as well as other applications requiring high current and high voltage drive.
