Instructions for Use:
Power Supply:
- Ensure the supply voltage (Vcc) is within the range of 5.5V to 45V.
- Use a power supply capable of providing sufficient current to meet the peak and continuous output current requirements.
Current Limiting:
- The LMD18245T has built-in current limiting to protect against overcurrent conditions.
- For continuous operation, do not exceed 2A of output current.
Thermal Management:
- Monitor the junction temperature (TJ) to ensure it does not exceed 150°C.
- Use appropriate heatsinking to manage power dissipation, especially when operating at higher currents or in high ambient temperatures.
Input Signals:
- Apply input signals with voltages between 0.8V and 5.5V to control the motor driver.
- Ensure the input current does not exceed 10μA to avoid damage to the input pins.
Short-Circuit Protection:
- The device includes short-circuit protection, which will limit the current and prevent damage in case of a short circuit.
- If a short circuit occurs, the device will automatically shut down and reset once the fault is cleared.
Thermal Shutdown:
- The device will shut down if the internal temperature exceeds 160°C to 170°C.
- Allow the device to cool before resuming operation.
Storage and Handling:
- Store the device in a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
- Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
Mounting:
- Mount the device on a PCB with adequate thermal management to ensure reliable operation.
- Follow recommended PCB layout guidelines to minimize parasitic inductance and capacitance.
