The MC145026P is a 16-pin DIP (dual in-line package) CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) device manufactured by Motorola. It is a universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) designed to interface data and control signals between data communication equipment and a serial data bus. The MC145026P is designed to operate with a wide range of baud rates from 50 to 19.2K baud and supports both asynchronous and synchronous communications. It also features a programmable baud rate generator, a programmable character length of 5, 6, 7, or 8 bits, and a programmable parity generator. It also has a programmable transmitter and receiver FIFO (first in, first out) buffer which allows for the buffering of up to 16 bytes of data. The MC145026P is commonly used in applications such as modems, printers, and other serial communications devices. It is also used in embedded systems, industrial automation, and medical equipment.
