Instructions for Using the CD4555

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage (VDD) is within the range of 3.0V to 18.0V.
    • The supply current (IDD) should be monitored to stay within the typical range of 5渭A to 20渭A at 5V.
  2. Input Levels:

    • For a valid low input (VIL), the voltage should be below 0.8V when VDD is 5V.
    • For a valid high input (VIH), the voltage should be above 2.0V when VDD is 5V.
  3. Output Levels:

    • The output low voltage (VOL) should not exceed 0.4V when sourcing 10mA at VDD = 5V.
    • The output high voltage (VOH) should be at least 2.4V when sinking -0.4mA at VDD = 5V.
  4. Propagation Delay:

    • The propagation delay time (tpd) should be between 15ns and 45ns at VDD = 5V and fIN = 1MHz.
  5. Power Dissipation:

    • The maximum power dissipation (PD) should not exceed 100mW.
  6. Handling:

    • Handle the CD4555 with care to avoid static damage.
    • Ensure all connections are secure and free from short circuits.
  7. Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage.
  8. Testing:

    • Use a multimeter to verify the supply voltage and current.
    • Test the input and output levels using a signal generator and oscilloscope to ensure proper operation.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure reliable operation of the CD4555 in your circuit design.
