Instructions for Use
Supply Voltage (VDD):
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 10V to 20V.
- The under-voltage lockout (UVLO) will activate if VDD drops below 9.5V.
High-Side Driver Supply (VHB):
- The high-side driver can operate with a supply voltage ranging from 10V to 600V.
- Ensure proper decoupling capacitors are used to stabilize the high-side supply.
Low-Side Driver Supply (VLB):
- The low-side driver operates with a supply voltage between 10V and 20V.
- This should be the same as VDD.
Input Levels:
- The input high level (VIH) should be at least 2.0V.
- The input low level (VIL) should not exceed 0.8V.
Output Levels:
- The output high level (VOH) will be between 8.5V and 17V when VDD is between 10V and 20V.
- The output low level (VOL) will be less than or equal to 1.5V.
Timing Parameters:
- The propagation delay time (td) is typically 50ns.
- The rise time (tr) and fall time (tf) are both typically 25ns.
Current Ratings:
- The quiescent current (IQ) is typically 1.5mA.
- The short-circuit current (ISC) is limited to 10A for 100ms to prevent damage.
Operating Temperature:
- The device can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to 125°C.
Protection Features:
- The device includes over-voltage lockout (OVLO) which activates at 23V.
- Ensure that the device is not exposed to voltages exceeding its maximum ratings to avoid damage.
Layout Considerations:
- Use short, wide traces for power and ground connections to minimize inductance.
- Place decoupling capacitors close to the IC to reduce noise and improve stability.
Handling:
- The IR21084S is sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use appropriate ESD protection measures during handling and installation.
