Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VCC pin to the positive supply voltage (3.0 to 18V).
    • Connect the GND pin to the ground.
  2. Enable Inputs:

    • The device has two enable inputs, ( overline ) and ( overline ). Both must be low (0V) for the decoder to operate.
    • If either enable input is high, all outputs will be high (1).
  3. Address Inputs:

    • The address inputs (A0, A1, A2, A3) determine which of the 16 outputs will be active.
    • The output corresponding to the binary value of the address inputs will be low (0V), while all other outputs will be high (1V).
  4. Output States:

    • Only one output will be low at any given time, corresponding to the binary address on the inputs.
    • All other outputs will be high.
  5. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static damage.
    • Ensure that the device is not subjected to voltages outside the specified operating range.
  6. Testing:

    • To test the device, apply different combinations of binary values to the address inputs and verify that the corresponding output goes low.
