Instructions for Using the FAN6755W

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • The FAN6755W operates with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V. Ensure that the input voltage is within this range to avoid damage to the device.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • The output voltage can be adjusted from 0.6V to 12V using an external resistor divider. Refer to the datasheet for the specific formula to calculate the resistor values.
  3. Switching Frequency (fSW):

    • The switching frequency is fixed at 650kHz. This helps in reducing the size of external components like inductors and capacitors.
  4. Peak Current Limit (ICL):

    • The peak current limit is set to 3.5A to protect the device from overcurrent conditions. Do not exceed this limit to avoid potential damage.
  5. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is 1.5mA when the output voltage is 5V and there is no load. This is important for low-power applications.
  6. Shutdown Current (ISD):

    • When the shutdown pin (SHDN) is pulled low, the device enters a low-power mode with a shutdown current of 1μA.
  7. Enable Threshold (VEN):

    • The enable threshold is 1.2V. The device will start operating when the enable pin voltage rises above this threshold.
  8. Enable Hysteresis (VHYST):

    • The enable hysteresis is 0.2V, which helps in preventing oscillations during the enable/disable transition.
  9. Thermal Shutdown Temperature (TSD):

    • The device will automatically shut down if the junction temperature exceeds 160°C to prevent thermal damage.

Additional Notes:

  • Always use appropriate decoupling capacitors close to the input and output pins to ensure stable operation.
  • For detailed application circuits and further information, refer to the FAN6755W datasheet.
