Instructions for Using AT24C01B-PU

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect Vcc to the positive supply voltage (1.8V to 5.5V).
    • Connect GND to the ground.
  2. I2C Bus Connection:

    • Connect SDA (Serial Data Line) to the data line of the I2C bus.
    • Connect SCL (Serial Clock Line) to the clock line of the I2C bus.
    • Ensure pull-up resistors are connected to both SDA and SCL lines to Vcc.
  3. Address Configuration:

    • The device has three address pins (A0, A1, A2). These can be tied to Vcc or GND to set the I2C address.
    • The default I2C address is 0x50 (1010000 in binary).
  4. Write Operation:

    • Start Condition: Initiate a start condition on the I2C bus.
    • Send Device Address: Send the device address followed by a write bit (0).
    • Send Memory Address: Send the memory address where the data will be written.
    • Send Data: Send the data byte to be written.
    • Stop Condition: Terminate the write operation with a stop condition.
  5. Read Operation:

    • Start Condition: Initiate a start condition on the I2C bus.
    • Send Device Address: Send the device address followed by a write bit (0).
    • Send Memory Address: Send the memory address from which data will be read.
    • Repeated Start Condition: Initiate another start condition.
    • Send Device Address: Send the device address followed by a read bit (1).
    • Receive Data: Read the data byte from the device.
    • Acknowledge/Nacknowledge: Send an acknowledge (ACK) or not-acknowledge (NACK) signal.
    • Stop Condition: Terminate the read operation with a stop condition.
  6. Data Retention and Endurance:

    • Ensure that the device is not subjected to excessive voltage or temperature beyond the specified limits to maintain data retention and endurance.
  7. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
    • Use proper decoupling capacitors near the power supply pins to ensure stable operation.
  8. Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry and cool environment to prevent damage from moisture and extreme temperatures.
