Instructions:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input power supply to the VIN pin. Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (3.6V to 17V).
  2. Battery Connection:

    • Connect the battery to the BATT pins. The battery voltage should be monitored to ensure it remains within safe operating limits.
  3. Charging Configuration:

    • Set the charging current using an external resistor connected to the ISET pin. The formula to calculate the resistor value is: R = 1000 / ICHG.
    • For pre-charge current, use the TRICKL pin to set the desired current.
  4. Safety Timer:

    • The safety timer can be configured using an external capacitor connected to the TMR pin. The formula to calculate the capacitor value is: C = TSAFE * 1000 / 12.
  5. Charge Termination:

    • The charge termination current is set by the device internally but can be adjusted using the ITERM pin if needed.
  6. Thermal Management:

    • Monitor the device temperature to ensure it does not exceed 140°C. If the temperature exceeds this threshold, the device will automatically shut down to prevent damage.
  7. Standby Mode:

    • To enter standby mode, disconnect the input power or set the EN pin to low. In standby mode, the quiescent current is significantly reduced.
  8. Package Handling:

    • Handle the TSSOP package with care to avoid damaging the pins. Follow standard ESD precautions to prevent damage from static electricity.
  9. Operating and Storage Conditions:

    • Ensure the device operates within the specified temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) and is stored within the storage temperature range (-65°C to 150°C).
