Instructions

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect Vcc to the power supply (2.5V to 5.5V).
    • Connect GND to the ground.
  2. Serial Interface:

    • Connect the SPI pins as follows:
      • SCK (Serial Clock): Connect to the master clock.
      • MOSI (Master Out Slave In): Connect to the master data output.
      • MISO (Master In Slave Out): Connect to the master data input.
      • CS (Chip Select): Connect to the master chip select signal. Pull low to activate the device.
  3. Initialization:

    • Ensure the device is powered and the CS pin is high to keep the device in standby mode.
    • To communicate with the device, pull the CS pin low.
  4. Reading Data:

    • Send the READ command (0x03) followed by the 24-bit address of the memory location.
    • The device will respond with the data from the specified address.
  5. Writing Data:

    • Send the WRITE ENABLE command (0x06) to enable writing.
    • Send the WRITE command (0x02) followed by the 24-bit address and up to 32 bytes of data.
    • Wait for the write cycle to complete (5 ms maximum).
  6. Status Register:

    • Use the READ STATUS REGISTER command (0x05) to read the status register.
    • Use the WRITE STATUS REGISTER command (0x01) to write to the status register.
  7. Protection:

    • The device supports write protection using the status register. Set the WP bit to prevent accidental writes.
  8. Power Down:

    • When not in use, set the CS pin high to put the device into standby mode to reduce power consumption.
  9. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the component.
    • Store the device in a dry, cool place within the specified storage temperature range.
