Instructions
Power Supply:
- Connect the VCC pin to a power supply within the range of 2.7V to 10.8V.
- Ensure the power supply can provide sufficient current to meet the operating and peak current requirements.
Logic Inputs:
- Apply logic levels to the control pins (STEP, DIR, SLP, MS1, MS2) as per the application requirements.
- Ensure the logic input voltages are within the specified range (VIL and VIH).
Motor Connection:
- Connect the motor to the AOUT1, AOUT2, BOUT1, and BOUT2 pins.
- Use the appropriate current limit settings to avoid exceeding the maximum continuous or peak current ratings.
Standby Mode:
- Set the SLP pin to a low level to enter standby mode, reducing quiescent current.
- To exit standby mode, set the SLP pin to a high level.
Microstepping:
- Configure the microstepping mode using the MS1 and MS2 pins.
- Refer to the datasheet for specific combinations of MS1 and MS2 to achieve the desired microstepping resolution.
Thermal Management:
- Monitor the operating temperature to ensure it does not exceed 85°C.
- If the device reaches the thermal shutdown temperature (150°C), it will automatically shut down to prevent damage.
Storage:
- Store the device in an environment with a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C to avoid damage.
Protection Features:
- The device includes overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) to protect against common fault conditions.
Layout Considerations:
- Place the device close to the power supply and motor to minimize parasitic inductance and resistance.
- Use decoupling capacitors near the VCC pin to filter out noise and provide stable power.
Testing:
- Before finalizing the design, test the device under various operating conditions to ensure reliable performance.
