Instructions for MAX487ESA
Power Supply:
- Connect the VCC pin to a 5V power supply.
- Connect the GND pin to the ground.
Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (RE):
- Set DE high to enable the driver.
- Set RE low to enable the receiver.
- When both DE and RE are high, the device is in a high-impedance state.
Data Transmission:
- To transmit data, set DE high and apply the data to the DI (driver input) pin.
- The data will be transmitted on the differential lines (RO and /RO).
Data Reception:
- To receive data, set RE low.
- The received data will be available on the RO (receiver output) pin.
Termination Resistors:
- For proper operation, terminate the bus with a 120Ω resistor between the differential lines (RO and /RO) at both ends of the bus.
Signal Levels:
- Ensure that the signal levels on the differential lines are within the specified range to avoid damage to the device.
Operating Temperature:
- The device is designed to operate within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
Storage Temperature:
- Store the device in a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
ESD Protection:
- Handle the device with care to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
Pin Configuration:
- Refer to the datasheet for the specific pin configuration and layout.
By following these instructions, you can ensure reliable operation of the MAX487ESA in your RS-485/RS-422 communication system.
