Instructions for Using the UA733CN

  1. Circuit Configuration:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the IN pin.
    • Connect the output voltage (VOUT) to the OUT pin.
    • Ground the GND pin.
  2. Output Voltage Adjustment:

    • The output voltage can be adjusted using an external resistor network connected to the ADJ pin.
    • Use the formula ( V_{text} = 1.24 left(1 + fracright) ) to set the desired output voltage, where ( R_1 ) is the resistor from ADJ to GND, and ( R_2 ) is the resistor from OUT to ADJ.
  3. Capacitors:

    • Place a 1 μF capacitor between the IN pin and GND to stabilize the input voltage.
    • Place a 1 μF capacitor between the OUT pin and GND to stabilize the output voltage.
    • For better transient response and stability, consider using ceramic capacitors.
  4. Thermal Considerations:

    • Ensure adequate heat sinking if the device will operate at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures.
    • Monitor the junction temperature to avoid exceeding the maximum operating temperature of 125°C.
  5. Protection:

    • The device includes thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection.
    • In case of a short circuit, the device will limit the output current and may shut down if the temperature exceeds the thermal shutdown threshold.
  6. Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry environment within the specified storage temperature range (-65°C to 150°C).
  7. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuits.
    • Follow proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions when handling and soldering the device.
