Instructions for Use:

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage (Vcc) is within the specified range of 1.7V to 5.5V.
    • Connect Vcc to the power supply and GND to ground.
  2. Communication:

    • Use the I2C communication protocol to interface with the device.
    • Connect the SDA (Serial Data Line) and SCL (Serial Clock Line) pins to the corresponding lines on the I2C bus.
    • Ensure pull-up resistors are used on both SDA and SCL lines.
  3. Write Protection:

    • To enable hardware write protection, connect the WP (Write Protect) pin to GND or leave it floating.
    • To disable hardware write protection, connect the WP pin to Vcc.
    • Software write protection can be enabled by writing to specific memory addresses as defined in the device datasheet.
  4. Addressing:

    • The device has a 7-bit I2C address, which can be configured using the A0, A1, and A2 pins (if available in the package). For the WBN6P package, these pins are not present, and the default address is 1010000b (0x50).
  5. Reading and Writing:

    • To read from the EEPROM, initiate a start condition, send the device address with the read bit set, and then read the data.
    • To write to the EEPROM, initiate a start condition, send the device address with the write bit set, send the memory address, and then send the data to be written.
    • After each write operation, wait for the maximum write time (5ms) before initiating another write operation.
  6. Data Retention:

    • The device retains data for at least 100 years under normal operating conditions.
  7. Endurance:

    • The device can withstand up to 1,000,000 write cycles.
  8. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
