Instructions for Using PCM2902E

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the power supply voltage (VDD) is within the range of 2.7V to 3.6V.
    • Connect the power supply to the VDD pin and ground (GND) pin.
  2. Digital Interface Configuration:

    • The PCM2902E supports I2S, Left-Justified, and Right-Justified digital audio formats.
    • Configure the digital interface using the control registers via the I2C or SPI interface.
  3. Sample Rate Selection:

    • Set the desired sample rate (8kHz to 48kHz) through the control registers.
    • Ensure the master clock (MCLK) frequency is appropriate for the selected sample rate.
  4. Analog Input/Output Connections:

    • Connect analog audio signals to the analog input pins (AINL, AINR).
    • Connect the analog output pins (AOUTL, AOUTR) to your audio amplifier or speaker.
  5. Standby Mode:

    • To enter standby mode, set the appropriate bit in the control register.
    • In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5μA of current.
  6. Active Mode:

    • To activate the device, clear the standby bit in the control register.
    • In active mode, the device consumes approximately 25mA of current.
  7. Temperature Considerations:

    • Ensure the operating temperature is within the range of -40°C to 85°C.
    • Avoid exposing the device to temperatures outside this range to prevent damage.
  8. Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR):

    • The device provides a typical SNR of 90dB for both analog input and output.
  9. Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD+N):

    • The typical THD+N is 0.01% for both analog input and output.
  10. Output Current:

    • The maximum output current per channel is 15mA. Ensure that the load does not exceed this limit to avoid damage.
