Instructions for Use
Circuit Connection:
- Connect the input voltage to the
VIN
pin. - Connect the ground to the
GND
pin. - Connect the load to the
VOUT
pin. - Place a 1μF ceramic capacitor between
VIN
andGND
close to the IC for input filtering. - Place a 1μF ceramic capacitor between
VOUT
andGND
close to the IC for output filtering.
- Connect the input voltage to the
Inductor Selection:
- Choose an inductor with a value of 1.0μH to 4.7μH for optimal performance.
- Ensure the inductor has a saturation current rating higher than the maximum output current.
Capacitor Selection:
- Use X5R or X7R ceramic capacitors for both input and output filtering.
- Ensure the capacitors have a voltage rating at least 1.5 times the maximum expected voltage.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the traces between the inductor and the IC as short as possible to minimize parasitic inductance.
- Use wide traces for the ground plane to ensure good heat dissipation.
Thermal Considerations:
- The IC is designed to operate within a wide temperature range, but ensure adequate ventilation or heat sinking if operating at high temperatures or under high load conditions.
Protection:
- The IC includes built-in overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal protection. However, it is recommended to use external fuses or circuit breakers for additional safety in critical applications.
Shutdown Mode:
- To put the IC into shutdown mode, pull the
SHDN
pin low. This will reduce the quiescent current to less than 1μA.
- To put the IC into shutdown mode, pull the
Storage and Handling:
- Store the IC in a dry environment and handle with care to avoid damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD).
