Instructions for L6571B

  1. Supply Voltage (VCC):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 16.5V to 30V for proper operation.
  2. Start-Up Current (IST):

    • The start-up current should be between 2mA and 8mA. This ensures the device initializes correctly without excessive power draw.
  3. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • When no load is present, the quiescent current should remain between 4mA and 7mA to minimize power consumption.
  4. Oscillator Frequency (fosc):

    • Set the oscillator frequency using external resistor (RT) and capacitor (CT). For typical applications, use RT = 100 kΩ and CT = 22 pF to achieve a frequency range of 25kHz to 100kHz.
  5. Maximum Duty Cycle (DMAX):

    • Limit the duty cycle to a maximum of 90% to prevent overdriving the output stage.
  6. Minimum On-Time (tonmin) and Minimum Off-Time (toffmin):

    • Ensure that the minimum on-time and off-time are both at least 1.8μs to avoid instability in switching operations.
  7. Overcurrent Protection (ICP):

    • The overcurrent protection threshold is set between 0.8V and 1.2V. Monitor this parameter to protect against excessive current conditions.
  8. Thermal Shutdown (TSD):

    • The device will initiate thermal shutdown if the temperature exceeds 160°C. Design adequate heat dissipation to prevent this from occurring under normal operating conditions.
