Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply: Ensure the supply voltage (VCC) is within the specified operating voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V.

  2. Communication Setup:

    • Connect the SDA and SCL lines to your microcontroller or host device.
    • Ensure proper pull-up resistors are used on both SDA and SCL lines for reliable I2C communication.
  3. Address Configuration:

    • The device has a fixed I2C address if no address pins are available. Check the datasheet for the specific address.
    • If address pins are available, configure them according to the desired I2C address.
  4. Write Operation:

    • Start by sending a start condition followed by the device address with the write bit set.
    • Send the memory address where the data will be written.
    • Transmit the data byte(s) to be written.
    • Finish with a stop condition.
    • Wait for the write cycle time (5ms) before performing another write or read operation.
  5. Read Operation:

    • Send a start condition followed by the device address with the write bit set.
    • Send the memory address from which data will be read.
    • Send a repeated start condition followed by the device address with the read bit set.
    • Read the data byte(s).
    • Send an acknowledge (ACK) after each byte except the last one, followed by a not-acknowledge (NACK) and a stop condition.
  6. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device within the specified temperature range to ensure long-term reliability.
    • Handle with care to avoid damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD).
  7. Endurance and Data Retention:

    • Be mindful of the endurance cycles and data retention limits when planning applications that require frequent writes or long-term data storage.
