Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.9V to 5.5V.
    • The input voltage should be stable and free from excessive ripple or noise.
  2. Battery Float Voltage (VFB):

    • Set the battery float voltage between 3.8V and 4.2V depending on the battery chemistry and requirements.
    • Use the VFB pin to set the desired float voltage.
  3. Charge Current (ICHG):

    • The maximum charge current is 500mA.
    • Adjust the charge current by setting the appropriate resistor value on the ISET pin.
  4. Shutdown Mode:

    • In shutdown mode, the supply current is reduced to 0.1渭A.
    • Enter shutdown mode by pulling the SHDN pin low.
  5. Operating and Storage Temperature:

    • Operate the device within the temperature range of -40掳C to 85掳C.
    • Store the device within the temperature range of -65掳C to 150掳C.
  6. Thermal Shutdown:

    • The device will automatically shut down if the temperature exceeds 160掳C to prevent damage.
  7. Battery Reverse Blocking:

    • The device blocks reverse battery connection up to -0.3V to protect the circuit.
  8. Battery Disconnect and Reconnect:

    • The battery disconnects when the voltage drops below 2.9V and reconnects when it rises above 2.8V.
  9. Charge Termination Timer:

    • The charge termination timer is set to 12 to 14 hours to prevent overcharging.
    • The timer can be adjusted using external components.

Additional Notes:

  • Always refer to the datasheet for detailed information and specific application circuits.
  • Proper PCB layout and component selection are crucial for optimal performance.
