Instructions for Use:

  1. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the 2SK81 with care to avoid damage to the pins or the device itself.
    • Use proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection when handling the device to prevent damage from static electricity.
  2. Mounting:

    • Ensure that the mounting surface is clean and flat to maximize heat dissipation.
    • Use a suitable heatsink if the device will be operating at high power levels.
    • Apply a thin layer of thermal compound between the device and the heatsink to improve thermal conductivity.
  3. Biasing:

    • The gate-source voltage (Vgs) should be kept within the specified range (-10V to +10V) to avoid damaging the device.
    • For optimal performance, bias the gate-source voltage according to the specific application requirements.
  4. Operating Conditions:

    • Ensure that the drain-source voltage (Vds) does not exceed 400V to prevent breakdown.
    • The continuous drain current (Id) should not exceed 5A at a case temperature of 25°C. For higher currents, use appropriate cooling methods.
    • The pulsed drain current (Ipd) can reach up to 10A for short durations (10 ms) with a duty cycle of 2% or less.
  5. Temperature Management:

    • Monitor the junction temperature (Tj) to ensure it does not exceed 175°C.
    • Store the device in an environment where the temperature ranges from -55°C to 150°C.
  6. Testing:

    • Before integrating the 2SK81 into a circuit, perform initial tests to verify its functionality and parameters.
    • Use a multimeter or an oscilloscope to measure voltages and currents during testing.
  7. Safety:

    • Always follow safety guidelines when working with high voltages and currents.
    • Ensure that the device is properly insulated and that all connections are secure to prevent electrical hazards.
