Instructions for Using the IR2136S

  1. Supply Voltage:

    • Ensure that the high-side supply voltage (VBOOT) is between 10V and 20V.
    • The low-side supply voltage (VSS) should be between 0V and 5.5V.
  2. Output Current:

    • The high-side output current (IOH) and low-side output current (IOL) can both reach up to 1.0A under typical conditions.
  3. Input Threshold Voltage:

    • The input threshold voltage for a high signal (VIH) should be at least 1.65V.
    • The input threshold voltage for a low signal (VIL) should be between 0.8V and 1.35V.
  4. Temperature Considerations:

    • The maximum junction temperature (TJ(max)) should not exceed 150°C.
    • The operating temperature range (TA) is from -40°C to 125°C.
    • The storage temperature range (TSTG) is from -65°C to 150°C.
  5. Power Dissipation:

    • The power dissipation (PD) should not exceed 1.1W at ambient temperature (TA) of 25°C for the SOIC-8 package.
  6. Thermal Management:

    • The thermal resistance (RθJA) from the junction to ambient is 125°C/W for the SOIC-8 package. Ensure proper heat sinking or cooling if operating near the maximum power dissipation.
  7. Circuit Design:

    • Use appropriate external components such as bootstrap capacitors and gate resistors to ensure stable operation.
    • Ensure that the bootstrap capacitor is adequately charged to maintain the high-side supply voltage.
  8. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety guidelines and compliance standards relevant to your application.
    • Ensure that the device is used within its specified operating conditions to avoid damage or failure.
