Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect VCC to the positive power supply (2.5V to 5.5V).
    • Connect GND to the ground.
  2. Clock Input (SCLK):

    • Apply a clock signal to the SCLK pin. The frequency should be between 0 and 10 MHz.
  3. Chip Select (CS):

    • Pull CS low to enable communication with the device.
    • When CS is high, the device is in standby mode.
  4. Serial Data In (SI):

    • Send data to the device through the SI pin during write operations.
  5. Serial Data Out (SO):

    • Read data from the device through the SO pin during read operations.
  6. Write Protect (WP):

    • Connect WP to VCC to disable write operations.
    • Connect WP to GND to enable write operations.
  7. Write Enable (WEN):

    • Set WEN to low to enable write operations.
    • Set WEN to high to disable write operations.
  8. Command Sequence:

    • Read Operation:
      • Assert CS low.
      • Send the read command (e.g., 0000 0001).
      • Send the address (9 bits).
      • The device will output the data on the SO pin.
      • Deassert CS to end the read operation.
    • Write Operation:
      • Assert CS low.
      • Send the write enable command (e.g., 0000 0110).
      • Send the address (9 bits).
      • Send the data to be written.
      • Deassert CS to end the write operation.
      • Wait for the write cycle time (4 ms max) before initiating another write operation.
  9. Error Handling:

    • Ensure that the write protect pin (WP) is correctly configured to avoid accidental writes.
    • Monitor the status of the device to ensure successful completion of write operations.
