Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage (Vcc) is within the operating range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
    • Connect the input voltage (Vin) to the appropriate pin, ensuring it is within the range of 2.0V to 5.5V.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • The output current (Iout) should not exceed 150mA continuously. For optimal performance, keep it below 100mA.
    • The dropout voltage (Vdo) is typically 0.3V at 100mA load. Ensure the input voltage is sufficiently higher than the desired output voltage to maintain regulation.
  3. Thermal Management:

    • The device has thermal shutdown protection that activates at approximately 160°C. Ensure adequate heat dissipation to prevent overheating.
    • Operate the device within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C for reliable performance.
  4. Regulation:

    • The load regulation and line regulation are both very low, ensuring stable output voltage over a wide range of load and input conditions.
  5. Quiescent Current:

    • The quiescent current (Iq) is typically 1.5mA and can go up to 2.5mA. This is important for low-power applications.
  6. Capacitors:

    • Use appropriate input and output capacitors to stabilize the circuit and filter out noise. Typically, a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the input and a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the output are recommended.
  7. PCB Layout:

    • Place the device close to the load to minimize trace resistance and inductance.
    • Use wide and short traces for power and ground connections to reduce parasitic effects.
  8. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle with care to avoid static damage. Use ESD-safe practices when handling the device.
