Instructions for Use:

  1. Forward Voltage (VF): Ensure that the forward voltage across the TLP3120 is within the specified range to avoid damage. The typical forward voltage is 1.2 V at a forward current of 20 mA.

  2. Peak Forward Current (IFPM): Do not exceed the peak forward current of 1 A for pulse widths of 1 ms or less with a duty cycle of 1% to prevent overheating and potential failure.

  3. Continuous Forward Current (IF): The continuous forward current should not exceed 20 mA at an ambient temperature of 25°C.

  4. Reverse Voltage (VR): The reverse voltage should not exceed 5 V at 25°C to avoid breakdown.

  5. Reverse Current (IR): Ensure that the reverse current does not exceed 500 nA at 25°C and 5 V reverse voltage.

  6. Output Current (IC): The output current should be within the range of 20 to 30 mA for optimal performance.

  7. Collector-Emitter Saturation Voltage (VCE(sat)): The saturation voltage should be kept below 1.2 V when the collector current is 20 mA and the forward current is 20 mA.

  8. Turn-On and Turn-Off Times: The turn-on and turn-off times are typically 1 μs and can reach up to 3 μs under standard conditions (IF = 20 mA, RL = 1 kΩ).

  9. Storage and Operating Temperatures: Store the TLP3120 between -40°C and 110°C and operate it between -40°C and 105°C to ensure reliable performance.

  10. Handling and Installation: Handle the TLP3120 with care to avoid static discharge and physical damage. Follow proper soldering techniques to ensure good electrical connections and prevent thermal stress.
