Instructions for Using L475D:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the input pin.
    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.9V to 40V.
  2. Output Voltage Adjustment:

    • The output voltage (VOUT) can be adjusted using external resistors.
    • Use the formula: ( V_ = 1.25 left(1 + fracright) )
    • Choose appropriate values for R1 and R2 to achieve the desired output voltage.
  3. Ground Connection:

    • Connect the ground (GND) pin to the common ground of the circuit.
  4. Capacitors:

    • Place a 10渭F electrolytic capacitor between the input pin and ground to stabilize the input voltage.
    • Place a 10渭F electrolytic capacitor between the output pin and ground to stabilize the output voltage.
  5. Thermal Considerations:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating at high current or in high ambient temperatures.
    • The thermal shutdown temperature is typically 160掳C to prevent damage from overheating.
  6. Protection:

    • The L475D includes overcurrent and thermal shutdown protection to safeguard against excessive load conditions and overheating.
  7. Mounting:

    • Mount the L475D on a PCB with proper spacing to allow for air circulation and cooling.
  8. Testing:

    • After assembly, test the output voltage and current to ensure it meets the design specifications.
    • Check for any signs of overheating or unusual behavior during operation.
