Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VCC pin to a power supply within the range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
    • Connect the GND pin to the ground.
  2. Interface Selection:

    • For SPI communication:
      • Connect SCLK to the clock line.
      • Connect SDI to the data input line.
      • Connect SDO to the data output line.
      • Connect CS to the chip select line.
    • For I2C communication:
      • Connect SCL to the clock line.
      • Connect SDA to the data line.
      • Ensure pull-up resistors are used on the SCL and SDA lines.
  3. Initialization:

    • Power on the device.
    • Send the appropriate initialization commands to set the wiper position and other settings as needed.
  4. Wiper Position Control:

    • Use the command set to adjust the wiper position. The wiper can be moved to any of the 256 positions.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x00 (write to wiper register) followed by the desired position (0 to 255).
  5. Non-Volatile Memory:

    • To store the current wiper position in non-volatile memory, send the store command.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x01 (store wiper position).
  6. Reading Wiper Position:

    • To read the current wiper position, use the read command.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x02 (read from wiper register).
  7. Shutdown Mode:

    • To enter low-power shutdown mode, send the shutdown command.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x03 (enter shutdown mode).
  8. Reset:

    • To reset the device to its default state, send the reset command.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x04 (reset device).
  9. Error Handling:

    • Monitor the status register for any error conditions.
    • Example command for SPI: 0x05 (read status register).
  10. Temperature Considerations:

    • Ensure the operating temperature is within the specified range (-40°C to +85°C).
    • Avoid exposing the device to temperatures outside this range to prevent damage.
  11. Storage:

    • When not in use, store the device in a dry environment with temperatures between -65°C and +150°C.
  12. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuits.
    • Use proper ESD protection measures when handling the device.
