Instructions for Using ULN2003ADR

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VCC pin to a power supply between 4.5V and 50V.
    • Ensure the ground (GND) pin is connected to the common ground.
  2. Input Signals:

    • Apply digital input signals to the input pins (1-7).
    • High input voltage (VIH) should be at least 2.0V.
    • Low input voltage (VIL) should be less than or equal to 0.8V.
  3. Output Configuration:

    • Each output pin (16-10) can sink up to 500mA continuously.
    • For peak currents up to 600mA, ensure the pulse width does not exceed 100 渭s.
    • The output saturation voltage (VCE(sat)) is typically 1.0V when sinking 500mA.
  4. Protection:

    • The ULN2003ADR has built-in free-wheeling diodes for inductive load protection.
    • No external diodes are required for most applications involving relays, solenoids, or motors.
  5. Temperature Considerations:

    • The device can operate in ambient temperatures from 0掳C to 70掳C.
    • Store the device in temperatures ranging from -55掳C to 150掳C.
  6. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
    • Use appropriate ESD protection measures during handling and installation.
  7. Layout Recommendations:

    • Keep the power supply lines short and use decoupling capacitors close to the VCC and GND pins to reduce noise.
    • Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures.
