Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the operating range of 4.5V to 13.2V.
- The input voltage should be higher than the desired output voltage plus the dropout voltage.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage can be adjusted using external resistors. The formula to calculate the output voltage is: [ V_{text} = V_{text} left(1 + fracright) ]
- Where ( V_{text} ) is the reference voltage (typically 1.25V), ( R_1 ) is the resistor connected between the output and adjust pins, and ( R_2 ) is the resistor connected between the adjust pin and ground.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide a continuous output current of up to 3.0A. Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overheating or damage.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is the current consumed by the regulator when there is no load. It is typically around 2.5mA at no load.
Dropout Voltage (VDO):
- The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required for the regulator to maintain regulation. It is typically around 0.8V at full load.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is the change in output voltage as the load current changes. It is typically around 0.5% over the specified load range.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is the change in output voltage as the input voltage changes. It is typically around 0.1% over the specified input voltage range.
Ripple Rejection:
- The ripple rejection is the ability of the regulator to reduce input ripple at the output. It is typically around 70dB at 100Hz.
Operating Temperature (TA):
- The device is designed to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40掳C to 85掳C. Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating near the upper limit.
Storage Temperature (TSTG):
- The device can be stored in temperatures ranging from -65掳C to 150掳C without damage.
Thermal Resistance (胃JA):
- The thermal resistance from the junction to the ambient environment is typically around 35掳C/W. Ensure adequate cooling if operating under high power conditions.
Additional Notes:
- Always use appropriate decoupling capacitors on both the input and output to ensure stability and reduce noise.
- For high-power applications, consider using a heatsink to improve thermal performance.
- Refer to the datasheet for detailed circuit diagrams and application notes.
