Instructions for Use:

  1. Handling and Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge and physical damage.
  2. Mounting:

    • Ensure proper heat sinking to maintain the junction temperature within safe limits.
    • Use thermal paste or thermal grease between the device and the heat sink for better thermal conductivity.
  3. Biasing:

    • Apply a gate-emitter voltage (VGE) of at least 15V to ensure full turn-on.
    • For turn-off, apply a negative gate-emitter voltage of at least -15V to ensure reliable turn-off.
  4. Current and Voltage Ratings:

    • Do not exceed the maximum collector-emitter voltage (VCE(off)) of 600V.
    • The continuous collector current (IC) should not exceed 30A at a junction temperature of 25掳C.
    • For pulse conditions, the peak collector current (IC(sm)) can reach up to 180A for very short durations (10 渭s).
  5. Thermal Management:

    • Monitor the junction temperature (Tj) to ensure it does not exceed 150掳C.
    • Use the thermal resistance (Rth(j-c)) value to calculate the required heat sink size.
  6. Testing:

    • Before mounting, test the device for any shorts or opens using a multimeter.
    • Perform a functional test under controlled conditions to ensure the device operates as expected.
  7. Safety:

    • Always follow safety guidelines when handling high-voltage and high-current circuits.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses.
