TDA8137 Instructions

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the supply voltage (Vcc) to pin 1.
    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
    • Connect the ground (GND) to pin 8.
  2. Frequency Selection:

    • Use the frequency control input (pin 2) to set the desired FM or AM frequency.
    • For FM, the frequency range is 87.5 MHz to 108.0 MHz.
    • For AM, the frequency range is 520 kHz to 1610 kHz.
  3. Audio Output:

    • Connect the left audio output (pin 5) and right audio output (pin 6) to your audio amplifier or speakers.
    • The audio output impedance is 4惟.
  4. Standby Mode:

    • To put the TDA8137 into standby mode, apply a low signal to the standby control pin (pin 3).
    • In standby mode, the current consumption is approximately 20 渭A.
  5. Mute Function:

    • Use the mute control pin (pin 4) to enable or disable the audio output.
    • Apply a high signal to mute the audio, and a low signal to unmute.
  6. Stereo/Mono Switching:

    • The TDA8137 automatically switches between stereo and mono based on the received signal strength.
    • For manual control, use the stereo/mono control pin (pin 7).
  7. Temperature Considerations:

    • The operating temperature range is from -40掳C to 85掳C.
    • Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating at high temperatures.
  8. Capacitors and Inductors:

    • Use external capacitors and inductors as specified in the datasheet to match the antenna and filter the input signals.
    • Typical values are provided in the datasheet for optimal performance.
  9. Interference and Noise Reduction:

    • Use shielding and proper grounding techniques to minimize interference and noise.
    • Place the TDA8137 away from sources of electromagnetic interference.
  10. Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Verify all connections and power supply voltages before testing.
    • Use a multimeter to check for correct voltages and currents.
    • If the device does not function as expected, refer to the troubleshooting section in the datasheet.
