MP3394S Instructions

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the power supply.
    • Ensure the input voltage is within the operating range (4.5V to 18V).
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Set the output voltage (VOUT) using external resistors connected to the FB pin.
    • The output voltage can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1.8V.
  3. Enable Pin:

    • Connect the EN pin to a logic high (≥1.2V) to enable the controller.
    • Connect the EN pin to a logic low (≤0.8V) to disable the controller.
  4. Switching Frequency:

    • Set the switching frequency (FSW) by connecting an external resistor to the RT pin.
    • The typical switching frequency range is 300kHz to 700kHz.
  5. Current Limit:

    • The maximum phase current (IPHASE) is 20A per channel.
    • Use appropriate inductors and MOSFETs to handle the current.
  6. Protection Features:

    • The controller includes under-voltage lockout (UVLO), overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown (TSD).
    • Ensure the UVLO threshold (3.0V to 3.5V) is not exceeded.
    • The OVP threshold is set at 1.85V to 1.95V.
    • The thermal shutdown temperature is 150°C to 160°C.
  7. Thermal Management:

    • Place the controller in a well-ventilated area or use a heatsink to manage heat dissipation.
    • Monitor the operating temperature to ensure it stays within the range of -40°C to 125°C.
