Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VDD pin to a stable power supply within the operating voltage range (1.62 V to 3.63 V).
    • Ensure that the power supply has adequate filtering to minimize noise.
  2. Grounding:

    • Connect the GND pin to the system ground to ensure proper operation and noise reduction.
  3. Data Output:

    • The PDM output is available on the DATA pin. Connect this pin to the input of your digital signal processing system.
    • The PDM clock (PDM_CLK) must be provided by the system and connected to the CLK pin. The typical clock frequency is 1.024 MHz or 1.6 MHz.
  4. Mounting:

    • Place the microphone in a location where it can capture sound without obstruction.
    • Ensure that the bottom port is not blocked by any mechanical parts or PCB components.
  5. Handling:

    • Handle the microphone with care to avoid damage to the sensitive MEMS element.
    • Avoid exposing the microphone to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  6. Testing:

    • To verify the functionality, apply a known sound source and monitor the PDM output using a digital oscilloscope or logic analyzer.
    • Check the SNR and sensitivity values to ensure they meet the specifications.
  7. Storage:

    • Store the microphone in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
    • Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions to prevent damage during handling and storage.
  8. Compliance:

    • Ensure that the design complies with relevant standards and regulations for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and environmental safety.
