Instructions for FAN6755

  1. Input Voltage Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage between VIN and GND pins within the specified range (4.5V to 26V).
  2. Output Configuration:

    • The FAN6755 has a fixed output voltage of 5V. No external components are required for setting the output voltage.
  3. Inductor Selection:

    • Choose an inductor with a saturation current higher than the maximum load current (up to 3A). Typically, an inductance value between 4.7渭H and 22渭H is suitable.
  4. Capacitor Selection:

    • Use a low ESR ceramic capacitor on the output for stability. A capacitance of at least 10渭F is recommended.
    • Ensure that the input capacitor can handle the ripple current and has a low ESR.
  5. Thermal Considerations:

    • Ensure adequate heat sinking if operating near the maximum power dissipation limits.
    • Monitor the operating temperature to avoid exceeding 85掳C.
  6. PCB Layout:

    • Keep the traces from VIN to the inductor as short as possible to minimize parasitic inductance.
    • Place the output capacitor close to the IC to reduce noise.
  7. Startup and Shutdown:

    • The device will start switching when VIN exceeds the undervoltage lockout threshold.
    • For controlled shutdown, pull the EN pin below 0.8V.
  8. Protection Features:

    • The FAN6755 includes thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection to safeguard against fault conditions.

Ensure all connections are secure and double-check polarity before applying power to prevent damage to the device.
