Instructions for Use:

  1. Supply Voltage (Vcc):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 5.5V to avoid damage to the device.
  2. Output Current (Iout):

    • The maximum continuous output current is 1.5A, with a peak of 2.0A. Do not exceed these limits to prevent overheating or damage.
  3. Quiescent Current (Iq):

    • The quiescent current is the current consumed by the regulator when no load is applied. It ranges from 0.1mA to 1.0mA.
  4. Dropout Voltage (Vdo):

    • The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required to maintain regulation. It is typically between 0.6V and 1.5V at a 1.5A load.
  5. Line Regulation:

    • Line regulation measures how well the output voltage remains constant despite changes in the input voltage. It should be less than 1.0% for a 1.5A load.
  6. Load Regulation:

    • Load regulation measures how well the output voltage remains constant despite changes in the load current. It should be less than 1.0% for a load current ranging from 0 to 1.5A.
  7. Ripple Rejection (RR):

    • Ripple rejection indicates the ability of the regulator to reject ripple on the input voltage. It is typically between 50dB and 70dB at 100kHz.
  8. Thermal Shutdown (TSD):

    • The device will shut down if the junction temperature exceeds approximately 160°C to prevent damage from overheating.
  9. Short-Circuit Protection (SCP):

    • The device includes short-circuit protection to prevent damage in case of a short circuit at the output.

Layout Considerations:

  • Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the IC to minimize noise and improve stability.
  • Use a heat sink if the device is expected to operate near its maximum output current or in high ambient temperatures.

Storage and Handling:

  • Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage.
  • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage sensitive components.
