Instructions

  1. Circuit Design:

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (9V to 36V).
    • Connect the input voltage to the VIN pin and ground to the GND pin.
    • Use an external resistor to set the output current. The formula for calculating the resistor value is: [ R_ = frac{1250}{I_} ] where ( I_ ) is the desired output current in amperes.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Connect the LED(s) to the OUT pin and ground.
    • If using multiple LEDs in series, ensure the total forward voltage drop does not exceed the input voltage minus the dropout voltage.
  3. Protection and Safety:

    • The IC includes overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit, and thermal shutdown protection. No additional components are required for these protections.
    • For optimal thermal performance, ensure adequate heat dissipation by using a heatsink or a PCB with sufficient copper area.
  4. Enable Control:

    • The enable pin (EN) can be used to turn the driver on or off. Apply a logic high (VIN) to enable the driver and a logic low (GND) to disable it.
  5. Layout Considerations:

    • Place the IC close to the power input and output components to minimize parasitic inductance and improve stability.
    • Use a bypass capacitor (10渭F) between VIN and GND to filter out noise and stabilize the input voltage.
  6. Testing:

    • Before finalizing the design, test the circuit under various conditions to ensure stable operation and compliance with the specified parameters.
    • Monitor the temperature of the IC to ensure it stays within the operating range.
  7. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the IC in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the IC. Use anti-static wrist straps and mats when handling the device.
