Instructions for Using BTA26800B

  1. Mounting and Heat Dissipation:

    • Ensure proper heat dissipation by mounting the BTA26800B on a suitable heatsink.
    • Use thermal grease between the device and the heatsink to improve thermal conductivity.
  2. Gate Triggering:

    • Apply a gate trigger current (IGT) of at least 10 mA to ensure reliable triggering.
    • The gate trigger voltage (VGT) should be within the range of 1.4 to 1.8 V.
  3. Current Handling:

    • Do not exceed the maximum RMS on-state current (IT(RMS)) of 80 A.
    • For non-repetitive peak currents, ensure that the current does not exceed 338 A for more than 10 ms.
  4. Voltage Ratings:

    • Ensure that the repetitive peak off-state voltage (VDRM) does not exceed 800 V.
    • For non-repetitive conditions, the peak off-state voltage can go up to 900 V.
  5. Temperature Management:

    • Keep the junction temperature (Tj) below 125掳C to avoid thermal damage.
    • Monitor the temperature during operation and use appropriate cooling methods if necessary.
  6. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle the device with care to avoid mechanical stress and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
  7. Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Test the device under controlled conditions before integrating it into the final application.
    • Use a multimeter to check the continuity and resistance values to ensure the device is functioning correctly.

By following these parameters and instructions, you can ensure the reliable and safe operation of the BTA26800B triac in your applications.
