Instructions for MAX31865AAP+

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the supply voltage (VDD) between 2.7V and 5.5V to the VDD pin and GND to the ground pin.
  2. RTD Configuration:

    • Connect the RTD sensor to the appropriate pins (RTDN, RTDP).
    • Ensure the RTD bias current is within the specified range (0.345mA to 0.355mA).
  3. Configuration Register Setup:

    • Set the configuration register via SPI interface to configure fault detection, conversion mode, and other settings as required.
  4. Fault Detection:

    • After powering up, the device will perform a fault detection cycle which takes approximately 62.5ms.
    • Check the fault status register to determine if any faults are detected.
  5. Temperature Measurement:

    • Initiate a temperature conversion by setting the appropriate bit in the configuration register.
    • Wait for the conversion time (approximately 27ms at 50/60Hz rejection) before reading the result from the data register.
  6. Reading Results:

    • Read the temperature data from the data registers using the SPI interface.
    • Convert the raw ADC output to temperature using the provided formula or lookup table.
  7. Handling Differential Input Voltage:

    • Ensure that the differential input voltage does not exceed 卤0.3V to avoid damage or inaccurate readings.
  8. Operating Temperature:

    • The device can operate over a temperature range of -200掳C to +850掳C when used with an appropriate RTD sensor.
