Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the 5V DC supply to the VCC pin and GND to the ground pin.
    • Ensure the power supply is stable and within the specified range.
  2. Signal Connections:

    • Connect the A and B signals to your microcontroller or interface for quadrature decoding.
    • Connect the Z signal for index pulse if required.
  3. Mounting:

    • Secure the encoder using the appropriate mounting method (through-hole or surface mount).
    • Ensure the shaft is aligned with the application axis.
  4. Operation:

    • Rotate the shaft to generate pulses on the A and B outputs.
    • The index pulse (Z) will be generated once per revolution.
  5. Programming:

    • Use the A and B signals to determine the direction and position of the shaft.
    • The index pulse can be used to reset or calibrate the position.
  6. Maintenance:

    • Keep the encoder clean and free from dust and debris.
    • Avoid excessive force on the shaft to prevent damage.
  7. Storage:

    • Store the encoder in a dry, cool place within the specified storage temperature range.
  8. Troubleshooting:

    • If the encoder does not produce signals, check the power supply and connections.
    • Ensure the shaft is not obstructed and rotates freely.
