Instructions for Use
Pin Configuration:
- The HC139 has 4 binary input lines (A, B, C, D), which can select one out of 16 outputs.
- Enable inputs (E1 and E2) must be low for the device to operate; otherwise, all outputs are high.
Power Supply:
- Connect Vcc to pin 20 and GND to pin 10.
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the specified range to avoid damage.
Signal Inputs:
- Apply binary signals to pins 1 (D), 2 (C), 3 (B), and 4 (A).
- Set enable inputs (pins 5 and 6) low to activate decoding.
Outputs:
- Outputs are active low; only one output will be low depending on the input combination.
- Unused or unconnected outputs should be left floating or tied high if necessary.
Handling Precautions:
- Handle with care to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
- Ensure proper heat sinking if operating near maximum power dissipation.
Applications:
- Suitable for use in multiplexing, demultiplexing, and address decoding in digital circuits.
