Instructions for Use:
Connection Setup:
- Connect the VCC pin to a 5V power supply.
- Connect the GND pin to the ground.
- Connect the TRIG pin to the trigger signal input from your microcontroller.
- Connect the ECHO pin to read the echo signal back into your microcontroller.
Operation:
- To start ranging, send a 10us high-level pulse to the TRIG pin.
- The module will automatically send out an ultrasonic burst and wait for the echo.
- The ECHO pin will output a high-level pulse whose duration corresponds to the time taken for the sound to travel to and from the object.
Calculation:
- Distance can be calculated using the formula: Distance (cm) = Time (μs) / 58 or Distance (inches) = Time (μs) / 148.
- Ensure that the measurement area is free of obstructions to ensure accurate readings.
Precautions:
- Avoid placing the sensor too close to large reflective surfaces other than the target to prevent erroneous readings.
- Do not expose the sensor to water or moisture as it may damage the internal components.
