Instructions for Use

  1. Circuit Configuration:

    • Fixed Output Voltage: Connect the input voltage to the IN pin and ground to the GND pin. The output voltage is available at the OUT pin.
    • Adjustable Output Voltage: Connect a resistor divider between the OUT and ADJ pins to set the desired output voltage. The formula to calculate the output voltage is: [ V_{text} = V_{text} left(1 + fracright) ] where ( V_{text} ) is typically 1.2V.
  2. Capacitors:

    • Input Capacitor (Cin): Place a 1渭F ceramic capacitor close to the IN pin to ensure stability and reduce input ripple.
    • Output Capacitor (Cout): Place a 1渭F to 10渭F ceramic capacitor close to the OUT pin to maintain stability and improve transient response.
  3. Thermal Considerations:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating at high output currents or high ambient temperatures. The thermal resistance (胃JA) of the SOT-23-5 package is approximately 150掳C/W.
  4. PCB Layout:

    • Keep the traces from the input and output capacitors to the regulator as short as possible to minimize parasitic inductance.
    • Ground planes can help improve thermal performance and reduce noise.
  5. Power-Up Sequence:

    • Apply the input voltage slowly to avoid inrush current issues.
    • Ensure that the input voltage is stable before connecting the load.
  6. Protection:

    • The LC06A includes internal overcurrent and thermal shutdown protection. However, external fuses may be necessary for applications with high fault currents.
  7. Testing:

    • Verify the output voltage and current regulation under various load conditions.
    • Check the ripple and noise on the output using an oscilloscope to ensure proper operation.
  8. Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage. Follow ESD handling procedures to avoid damaging the device.
