Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the positive terminal of the power supply.
    • Connect the ground (GND) to the negative terminal of the power supply.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Set the output voltage (VOUT) using an external resistor divider network connected to the FB (feedback) pin.
    • The formula to calculate the output voltage is: ( V_ = V_ times left(1 + fracright) ), where ( V_ ) is typically 0.8V.
  3. Inductor Selection:

    • Choose an inductor value based on the desired output current and switching frequency.
    • A typical inductor value for this converter is 10μH to 22μH.
  4. Capacitor Selection:

    • Use a low ESR ceramic capacitor for the input (CIN) and output (COUT) capacitors.
    • Recommended values are 10μF for CIN and 10μF to 22μF for COUT.
  5. Enabling and Disabling:

    • The EN (enable) pin can be used to turn the converter on or off.
    • Apply a high signal (≥1.2V) to the EN pin to enable the converter.
    • Apply a low signal (≤0.4V) to the EN pin to disable the converter.
  6. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation by placing the device on a PCB with sufficient copper area or using a heatsink if necessary.
  7. Layout Considerations:

    • Keep the traces from VIN to the inductor and from the inductor to GND as short as possible to minimize parasitic inductance and improve efficiency.
    • Place bypass capacitors close to the IC to reduce noise and improve stability.
  8. Testing:

    • After assembly, test the output voltage and current under different load conditions to ensure proper operation.
    • Verify that the converter meets the required specifications and operates within the safe operating area.
