Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN): Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 4.75V to 20V. The device will not operate outside this range.

  2. Output Voltage (VOUT): The LM2594MX-3.3/NOPB provides a fixed output voltage of 3.3V. No external components are required to set this voltage.

  3. Output Current (IOUT): The regulator can supply up to 3A continuously. Ensure that the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overheating or damage.

  4. Heat Dissipation: Since the dropout voltage is relatively low (1.2V at 3A), heat dissipation should be considered when operating near the maximum current and/or in high ambient temperatures.

  5. Capacitors: For stable operation, use appropriate input and output capacitors. Typically, a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the input and a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the output are recommended.

  6. PCB Layout: Good PCB layout practices are essential. Keep the ground paths short and wide, and place the input and output capacitors as close to the regulator as possible.

  7. Operating Temperature: The device is rated for operation from -40°C to +85°C. Ensure adequate cooling if operating near the upper temperature limit, especially under high load conditions.

  8. Storage Temperature: The storage temperature range is the same as the operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).

  9. Junction Temperature: Do not allow the junction temperature to exceed 125°C to prevent thermal shutdown or damage.

  10. Ripple Rejection: The regulator offers good ripple rejection at 60dB at 120Hz, making it suitable for applications where clean DC power is required.
