Instructions:

  1. Power Supply: Connect Vcc to pin 16 and GND to pin 8. Ensure the power supply voltage is within the specified range.
  2. Inputs: Apply logic signals to the input lines (I0 to I7). The device encodes the highest active input according to the priority scheme.
  3. Outputs: The encoded output appears on pins A (pin 3), B (pin 2), and C (pin 4).
  4. Enable Inputs: Use GS (pin 5) for group select and EO (pin 7) for enable output. For normal operation, connect GS to GND and EO to an external circuit as needed.
  5. Active Low/High: Check the datasheet for specific active states of inputs and outputs. Typically, active low inputs are used.
  6. Handling: Handle with care to avoid damage due to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Follow anti-static precautions.
  7. Mounting: Ensure proper mounting orientation and alignment during PCB assembly.
