Instructions for Use:

  1. Mounting and Handling:

    • Ensure the device is mounted on a heatsink if operating near maximum current ratings to maintain junction temperature within specified limits.
  2. Electrical Connections:

    • Connect the gate terminal to the control circuit ensuring that the gate trigger current (IGT) exceeds the minimum required value for reliable turn-on.
    • Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.
  3. Operating Conditions:

    • Do not exceed the repetitive peak off-state voltage (VDRM) or repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRSM).
    • Keep the on-state current (IT(RMS)) within the rated limit to avoid overheating and potential damage.
    • For pulse applications, ensure the non-repetitive peak on-state current (ITTSM) does not exceed the specified maximum for short pulses.
  4. Environmental Considerations:

    • Operate the device within the specified junction and storage temperature ranges to ensure reliable performance and longevity.
  5. Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Regularly monitor the device's performance parameters such as on-state voltage drop (VT0) and holding current (IH) to detect any deviations from normal operation.
    • If the device fails to turn on or off reliably, check the gate trigger current (IGT) and ensure it meets the minimum requirements.
