Instructions for Use:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect VCC to the power supply voltage (3.0V to 5.5V).
- Connect GND to the system ground.
1-Wire Communication Setup:
- Connect the 1-Wire data line (DQ) to a digital I/O pin on your microcontroller.
- Ensure that the 1-Wire data line has a pull-up resistor (typically 4.7kΩ).
Initialization:
- Initialize the 1-Wire bus by sending a reset pulse from the microcontroller.
- The DS2431+T&R will respond with a presence pulse.
ROM Command Execution:
- Execute ROM commands such as Match ROM or Skip ROM to address specific devices on the 1-Wire bus.
Function Command Execution:
- Send function commands like Read Memory, Write Scratchpad, or Copy Scratchpad to interact with the EEPROM and SHA-1 engine.
Data Reading/Writing:
- For reading, use the Read Memory command followed by sequential reads.
- For writing, first write data to the scratchpad using the Write Scratchpad command, then execute the Copy Scratchpad command to transfer data to EEPROM.
Error Checking:
- Implement error checking mechanisms such as CRC checks for data integrity.
Secure Hash Calculation:
- Utilize the on-chip SHA-1 engine for generating secure hashes of data stored in EEPROM.
Handling Multiple Devices:
- If multiple DS2431+T&R devices are on the same 1-Wire bus, use unique ROM addresses to communicate with each device individually.
Power Management:
- In applications where low power consumption is critical, ensure that the device enters standby mode when not actively communicating.
