Instructions for LM317T-DG

  1. Pin Configuration:

    • Input (IN): Connect the unregulated input voltage.
    • Output (OUT): Connect this pin to the load and the adjustment resistor network.
    • Adjust (ADJ): Connect this pin to the resistors that set the output voltage.
  2. Setting Output Voltage:

    • The output voltage can be adjusted using two external resistors (R1 and R2). The formula to calculate the output voltage is: [ V_ = 1.25 times left(1 + fracright) ]
  3. Capacitor Requirements:

    • For stable operation, it's recommended to use a 0.1μF capacitor between the input pin and ground.
    • An optional 10μF capacitor between the output pin and ground can improve transient response.
  4. Heat Dissipation:

    • Ensure adequate heat sinking if operating at high current or high dropout voltages to prevent overheating.
  5. Protection Features:

    • The device includes internal thermal overload protection and safe area compensation.
  6. Mounting Orientation:

    • Mount the component with the heatsink in direct contact with the metal tab for efficient heat dissipation.
  7. Storage Conditions:
